Terms are that you have access as long as Gold remains active. Should it lapse they freeze access to them then turn it back on once you renew Gold

 

You’d be surprised. I know a few people that only buy gold for a month here and there if there is a multiplayer game they want to play. Otherwise, they couldn’t care less.

 

Look if you have the gold you can play gwg games and when the gold ends you can't play the game until you get gold again!

 

I would guess that most likely it will always require an Xbox Live Gold Subscription to keep playing games with gold titles.

 

I agree with several here, if you have xbox you're probably not going to end your gold sub anytime soon. It is possible that at the next generation of console they might go ahead and just let everyone have what they downloaded. similar to whats happened
with 360 and GWG.

 

Possibly, in time, the Xbox One games will be ours to keep permanently, but you may be looking at many years down the line.

no, and the logic behind it as I see it, if you pay full retail (say $60) for 1 year of gold, and you got to keep all the titles even after your gold lapses that they gave out Microsoft in essence paid you to be gold for a year. So part of the contract
is if you want to continue to have access to the free games you have accessed, you have to keep up your gold subscription. Kind of like how game pass works as well, except if you forget to snag a license on the games with gold, you have to go out and purchase
it if you missed it... Game pass doesn't have that issue.

I have never not had Gold so I haven't seen if we lose the games with gold we've "purchased".

 

Some games remain available to you only as long as you maintain an active Live Gold subscription.

 

For the Games with Gold, you can own them if you keep subscribing to Gold Membership. If you decided not to use Gold anymore, then you would have to buy the game.

 

You won't be able to own the Xbox One games that are included on the monthly Games with Gold. Their availability depends on the offer time frame (i.e Death Squared - 07/16 up to 08/16)
