So why did my xbox controller made battery packs make my controller stop working

Hello Caleb, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

If the batteries work in other controllers then it may be the controller itself. Please check this support link https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne... for troubleshooting steps.

In the meantime check if regular batteries work in that controller or use a cable to connect the controller (without the batteries) and see if it works then.

Things like this make me wonder who was in charge of design. The simple things that made 360 great are gone. For anyone who wants to know I do have a way to tell. About 10 minutes before the batteries (or battery pack) dies, the vibration on the controller
AND the rumble triggers stop working. I thought my controller broke but I just replaced the batteries and was good to go! this will be how I know the controller is dying until they update it.

the battery pack fits as in clips in but it seems as if the controller does not recognise it as a battery pack (i mean the controller what came with the slim). the battery pack works fine as i have tried it on a older controller (a controller from my previous
console but one i brought like 2 months ago). the battery does not power the controller nore does it get charged by the controller when the cable is plugged in. the charge cable fits in fine and powers the controller when it is plugged in. there is nothing
wrong with the battery or cable it is the new controller what has been made not to fit the old battery pack so Microsoft make more money as you have to buy a new charge kit. its a robbery unless its my new controller what is not working properly then i will
more then happily send it away to get repaired with no expense from me as it has never worked from the start and do not believe i should pay for something to be fixed what was broke when it was shipped in that condition.

If you're using Xbox 360 battery packs, virtually all of them will be bad by now. They stopped making them 7 years ago, and I've seen them die sitting in a box for 2 years

Did you use standard AA batteries?

Does the working controller work with the same batteries?

I To have had problems with my MS Xbox rechargable battery packs... The odd thing is I have/used one white controller with a white battery pack and one black controller with two rechargable battery packs (bought a new one after the first one stopped charing)
but unly the black battery packs stopped working, while the white one has had no issues both of which where charge with the play and charge kit, I used/use the two controllers on two different black xbox360 elite's so I guess there could be an issue with power
on the usb conection on one of the consoles... But still it's really odd! But for me to buying an official quick chage kit has solved the problem, both batteries seem to have been brought back to life..
