So when i ɓoot up my xbox and controller and d pad is broken when i tap it it double taps...

This sounds like you have snapped the help app.

If you have Kinect, say "Xbox, unsnap"

If you don't have Kinect;

Quickly double tap the Xbox button on your controller

A Cross icon will appear between the game and the snapped app.

Press DOWN on D-Pad to select "Unsnap"

To snap an app again, double tap the Xbox button and follow on screen prompts.

I've noticed that the d-pad will only work 100% of the time if you press it unnecessarily hard, but if you do regular taps, like on the normal Xbox One controller it won't registrar the taps.

Either double-tap the Xbox Home button (glowing white button with an X) and it will close, or press B repeatedly or press right on the d-pad (the cross on the controller) until the menu closes.

The D-pad pushes in and out. When it is in, it looks like the one you have now. When you twist it, it pops up and gives you a little more accuracy when tapping left, right, up and down. It is a little better, but the PS3 D-pad is still 10x better imo. I
love the 360 controller way more than a PS controller except the D-pad.
