So I tried network transferring an install of my Halo Reach disc and I get this.

I own the physically disc and I installed it on my Xbox One-which plays fine. Then I network transferred a copy to my Series S and it was installing then errored when finished.

So I'm a bit confused and upset because I know full well tgis disc is either downloading a digital version of the game on the xbox one-which is why I installed the disc to begin with-and yet using the SAME account on the SAME network on all xbox first party systems and what not AND it's Halo, I can't play the copy of a game I own on multiple systems???

I just think it's really dumb to buy a digital copy of a game I already bought on physical a couple generations ago and it plays on xbox one. So Why can't the Microsoft servers just realize I own and installed the disc? I'm not buying a second copy.

You need a license to play the game. Since you own it on disc, your license is on that disc. So the disc needs to be in the console in order to prove you own the game. Since the Series S does not have a disc drive, you would not be able to play it with a disc copy. You would need to own it digitally.

i have the same problem like you i was playing halo reach when my disc got scratch i could not play it anymore o_O

. i tried using alcohol, toothpaste, and peanut butter nothing works. so

1.i bought a used on sale halo reach disc for 30$

2.install it to my xbox

3.sell that disc

4.THE GAME WORKS PERFECTLY

5.got my money back too

The Xbox series X will not read the MW2 disc, I have returned it and tried 3 separate copies of the MW2 disc, the console will play other games/discs and read dvds/blue rays as well. But will not read any MW2 disc I insert into the console. The disc will read on my Xbox one. I installed it there and network transferred all the data to the series X and upgraded all the data that was transferred but the console refuses to read the MW2 disc.

Well when I did the network transfer, I initially only downloaded the DLC as I had already downloaded the game by inserting the disc into the new xbox. I then tried uninstalling the game and network transferring the old saved version of the game to my
new xbox, but neither has worked. In response to your suggestion, when I follow those steps, the DLC is all under "Installed", with nothing under "Ready to Install".

Unless your disc is getting damaged, I wouldn't worry about it.

You can also install it to your HDD.
