So-called "license transfer"

Having an issue with Rock Band 3. My wife and I have each purchased songs with our respective gamertags. Until recently, we've always played while being connected to Live. No problems there.

In April, I did a license transfer. Had problems getting it to work, but finally it did. Or it seemed to.

When we play the game offline, the songs she downloaded work just fine. But the ones I downloaded (particularly older songs) don't work and get skipped. When we go back online, they work fine.

Someone suggested that something might've gone wrong with the license transfer (as I said before, I had trouble with it before). Since her songs work, the license seems to have partially worked.

Now when I try to do a license transfer, it tells me "There was a problem connecting to Xbox Live." Now I can't even attempt to try the transfer again to fix the issue.

Would really like some help with this one please. Thanks.

USB + Online License Transfer = Transfer Kit.

 

Did you redownload the songs after doing the license transfer?

 

Yes. Have done it many times. On both accounts.

 

It sounds like you used her account to licence transfer, meaning songs she bought will work fine offline.

However, your songs should work fine offline on whichever console you bought them, but if you want that to be the console the two of you are using now, you would need to do a licence transfer while signed in as you - and then re-download the songs again
afterwards.
