Smoke from Xbox One Console

Hi, I've got a Xbox One console that is about 3 years old. The other day it just shut off while my kids were playing and I went to see it and there was black smoke coming out of it. I've seen other owners of Xbox One consoles report this issue but I have
not been able to find the next steps to resolve this. Hope someone can guide me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

No, IW has stated that with one system performing graphically better that one system would have an advantage over the other. Ex: if someone throws a smoke grenade the 360 might have an advantage due to the possibility that the smoke won't show up for them
and it would on the X1. I know from my personal experience that I've tried to rely on the smoke from an explosion only to be killed because the smoke didn't show up for my killer

 

Black smoke coming out of your console means it needs to be repaired. Do NOT use compressed air as said above as that could damage your console and void warranty. The internal power supply could have ruptured.

The console is approximately 4 years old. I don't think it's under warranty. But smoke shouldn't be coming out of it. I'm just thankful that a fire didn't start.

 

if your console isnt booting up then you will need to submit for repair

 

The out of warranty repair cost is around $135 USD.
