    Hello Xbox Support forums!

I've had a small problem when turning on my Xbox since November. When I power on the Xbox One, via the controller I get an audible beep, but then sits at the "Signing you in" dot for 3-6 minutes (or greater) before going to the dashboard. This is new, long,
delay that started sometime in November (I don't remember the actual day).

I have contacted Xbox support, but sadly, they are unable (and out right refuse) to deviate from their scripts and fail to provide any actual troubleshooting. They are very polite about it though.

Here is what I've done, and grudgingly done by Supports scripted requirements.

    1) When selecting Shut Down from the Setting menu (actually powering down the Xbox vs going in standby mode), the following 2-3 restarts are quick, and very close to the "instant on" that I'm used to. But, a day or two later and its back up to the 3-6+ minute
    sign in.

    2) I've cleared all of the cache and blue-ray cache. I don't actually use the blue-ray, but did they steps anyway.

    3) Removed and re-added my profile. This provided a very good bit of information. When not logging in to my profile, the start up time is INSTANT. Xbox support completely ignored this fact, and out right refused to listen when I brought this up in the future.

    4) Plugged the Xbox One in to the wall vs my high end surge protector. I politely tried to argue with Support on this one as it has zero to do with the problem that I am experiencing with the Xbox. Even though I explained to her that this is a newer issue
and the Xbox has been in the Surge protector for several months before this issue started up. But, she out right refused to provide any other troubleshooting steps until I did this and told me if I would not comply, she would close this ticket. (surprise,
    surprise, the issue continued)

    5) Reset the Xbox to factory defaults, forced upon by Xbox support. This is one I really tried to avoid as there was no merit to this suggestion. I provided several examples as that this issue pointed in a different direction, but like #4, there was an utter
refusal to listen to the already provided troubleshooting steps and that the already discovered facts did not support this massive time sink of a step. I tried to explain that this step would erase all of the installed games and their updates and that they
are asking me to redo 10+ hours of reinstall and downloads. I asked if they could provide any details on to why this step would address the issue I was having. Sadly, the ONLY one provide was, "it is the next one on my list of options".

    6) Both, before step 5 and after step 5, Xbox support refused my request to have this issue escalated to a higher tier of support. I understand that the first level techs are working with a set of instructions that will address 80% of the known issues with
the Xbox. I'm totally cool with that and support it. But, there needs to be some actual troubleshooting from time to time, and I believe this is a great example of that need.

The last interaction from support is that I have a "Senior Profile" since I have been an Xbox customer since the original Xbox and that is causing the delay. They again refused to escalate my issue, and provided me with one last suggestion. This one, I will
be honest, they did state was a shot in the dark. That was to go in to settings, save game data, and erase all (both offline and online).

For some reason, Microsoft does not provide a way for me to really selectively delete saves from the cloud, its all or nothing.

SO, here I am, with still an active open ticket, and a 5 minute boot time on my Xbox one. Before I delete everything I figured it couldn't hurt to come to the support forms and see if anyone else had some suggestions.

    Thank you for your time,

    Dave

    Hello gds1972,

Yes, by a large amount of time. I went in and set auto sign in to nobody, logged out and shut the Xbox down (via the controller). When I powered the Xbox back up, it was only a few seconds till the dashboard. I then selected my profile, logged in, and it
took a very quick 5-10 seconds.

To double check, I then when back in to settings, set the auto sign in to my account and shut the Xbox down via the controller. When I powered the Xbox back up, it took 4 minutes to return to the dashboard.

So, there is an error with the Auto-sign-in feature and my profile.

Mine does that too but it is not close to 30 seconds. Maybe 5 seconds. Anyway, it hasn't been enough that I consider it an issue.

Have you tried doing the hard reset on your One?

Hi Dave have you tried disabling auto sign in and then signed in manually to see if that's any quicker?

Likely this is an internet problem, not an Xbox problem.

I'd start by clearing the system cache (it's just updates plus other temporary files, nothing that's at all important to anyone) by:

    1) Tap the silver Xbox Guide button on the controller, go right 2 clicks to Settings, pick System Settings.

    2) Select Storage (or Memory).

    3) Move over any hard drive or memory unit (not the Cloud) & press (Y) on your controller & pick Clear System Cache.

    4) When asked to confirm storage device maintenance, choose Yes.

Now,. some NAT problems are subtle and don't appear in the Test Xbox Live Connection test (did you run it?). Most likely there's a port blocked... ports can be blocked in your router, modem, or
at your ISP. Since the Xbox 360 uses different ports than PCs & Macs use, you can't see the effect of a port blockage
    except on the Xbox.

A sequential power cycle is the first step in clearing a port blockage:

    1) turn off the Xbox then

    2) unplug the power from the router (Some folks have a combination modem-router AKA 'gateway'. If so, skip step 3).

    3) unplug the power from the modem.

    4) Wait at least 30 secs then replug the modem (or gateway) power.

    5) Wait 'til the light on the front of the modem (or gateway) which says ONLINE, READY, CABLE or DSL is on solid (not flashing), then plug in the router. If you have a gateway instead of a modem and router, then when that light says it's ready, skip step
    6.

    6) Wait until the WiFi light on the router is on; you may not use WiFi, but it's still a good indicator your router is finished booting up.

    7) Turn on the Xbox. For more background on Ports, see
