Slow download speeds on Xbox game pass for PC

After formatting and updating to windows 11 I no longer have this problem, so yeah... Maybe that's a possibile, yet extreme, solution.

Aren't they still having performance issues with this on gaming PCs?

Can't tell if that's still an issue, I personally didn't notice any differences in terms of gaming performances

Would really love some idea on this too, other than the silly Delivery Optimization garbage that has been floating around forever. I have 400Mb internet and every other application has no problem reaching much higher speeds. But Gamepass never cracks 7MB/s, has been this way since it first came out.

It's got to be something software related, because I've been on the same LAN with others than do not have the problem, but so far I haven't been able to find a single suggestion as to what it might be.

I have noticed the same frustrating issue. I have a 300Mbit connection and during some game downloads and updates Xbox/Microsoft Store struggles to reach 10Mbit. While a speed test or a Steam download is hitting the cap. Strange enough it mostly seems to happen in the evening, which is even more annoying as you are stuck waiting for a painfully slow update before you can play online with friends...

I finally managed to fix it, at least for me... was getting 7-9 MB/s and I am now getting 33-40 MB/s. The Windows Auto-tuning level was disabled.

Pause all downloads and close the Xbox app.

Here is what fixed it :

1. Open PowerShell as administrator.

2. Enter this command -> netsh interface tcp show global.

3. For me, the "Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level" was set to disabled.

4. To enable it, enter this command -> netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

5. You can enter the command at step 2 to validate that the Auto-tuning is set to "normal"

Launch the Xbox app and start the download again. You should see improved download speed. I hope that this helps !

Been banging my head against the wall on this for ages and this did it. Went from 5-7MB to 35-40MB immediately.
