Slow download speeds on Xbox for Windows 10 PC (Beta)

Just installed the Xbox for Windows 10 PC Beta and signed up for Game Pass for PC.

My internet down speed is 105 MB/s but my download speed on the Xbox client is ranging from about 3-5 MB/s.

Is there a way to uncap this? Could something be slowing it down?

Download speeds depends on the server (s) availability to send you the traffic. Just because you have a 105 MB/s does not mean the server at the time isn't busy supplying other users with the same data.

download the xbox beta app for windows 10 then get it that way, it is available from the windows store and is in gamepass for pc too.

Lots of issues with lockdown everyday try exiting any loaded game i find downloads go faster

it could be due to the amount of people online at this time due to the lock down . Microsoft could have slowed things down a bit to help with congestion on the servers . 🤔

You initiate the download in the xbox beta app but it is windows 10 store that downloads it.

Indeed. There is a fair bit of confusion of how the app works. In actual fact, just how Tezzarrific has stated, the beta app initiates the download, but the Windows Store actually does the downloading.

As you can see from this screenshot below taken from my PC. Beta app used to get Hydro Thunder, but the actual download is done through the Windows Store.

The Xbox PC beta app isn't a stand-alone download application like Steam or Origin, it's more like a front end or a portal.

Now I'm not saying here that I haven't had issues, I have. Some downloads have been very slow. Depends on when I tried to download them and whether there were any issues with LIVE.

Remember with the global pandemic, servers are seeing a lot more demand for content, and with more and more people online at the moment speeds will not be optimal.
