Slow download speeds on XBGP-PC, ever going to change?

I've been using the Xbox Game Pass for PC since it launched, and one consistent thing has been the inconsistent download speeds. Most downloads will see the speed indicator jumping anywhere from 100 kb/s to 13 mb/s. The overall/average speed is extremely
low. I find myself particularly annoyed today because of yet another 10+ GB patch for AOE2: DE (seriously, am I re-downloading the entire game each time? perhaps another issue worth talking about).

Anyway, it's been several months now, and I certainly won't be making any Windows Store game purchases or recommendations to friends with these kinds of download speeds. Where's the improvement at, Microsoft?

Have you tried turning on the Delivery Optimization setting? There is a pretty detailed thread on Reddit about it.

I have tried that as well; I average 4 Mb/s after changing the optimization settings. And yes, I checked to make sure the setting had changed in the control panel.

There is something else; not that I know what else to try, the Xbox PC app gives NO options anywhere for DL speed/location.

Just spent the last 3 minutes watching it never go above 2 MB/s and spending more time in the 100-500 KB/s range.

That's no solution at all.

You can try a few things, but in the end the speed of the download will heavily rely on your connection, router and Internet Provider.

Please, set the priority to the Xbox App to high on Windows.

Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc on your keyboard to open the Task Manager.

Search for XBOX in the programs list and right-click it > Expand > Select Xbox App.

Right-click it > Select “Go to details,” then find “XboxPcAppFT.exe” in the program list, right-click it, select “Set priority,” and then, “High.

Afterward, make sure your Windows is updated:

After that, please, download the Gaming Services Repair tool: https://aka.ms/GamingRepairTool

Once downloaded, execute the file by right-clicking on it and selecting Run as Administrator.

Follow the prompts and check if the issue was resolved (Press "Y").

Moving on from there, reset your network settings:

Please, follow these steps:

Press Windows Key + X > Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings > Network Reset > Reset Now.

cleared*. Is it the USB drive that's failing or maybe my download speed. My download speed on my computer is 21 mb/s but does that translate over to my xbox? Cause the download is going fairly slow.
