    Sleep Timer on Xbox One?

Just out of curiosity, not sure if this has been asked and answered many, many times. When are we going to get a sleep timer for the xbox one?

And one more question... what happened to the "Turn off Xbox" function on the Smartglass app? I used to be able to turn off my Xbox One via Smartglass just by checking "Consoles on my network" > Xbox One > Power Off. Now that option is no longer there and i
have to go through the, "i hope my slid my finger in the proper direction" because my TV timer already shut my TV off.

Both questions kind of go hand and hand with one another if you think about it.

    :)

Yeah, but I did live chat with microsoft and they told me they would add a note to the engineers to see if they can add different sleep timer options (instead of 1 hour and 6 hours).

I think 1 or 6 are extremes, with nothing in the middle. Yeah, idk if that solution would be OK with me for 6 hours. I'll see what I can do.

  4. Sleep Timer on Xbox One?

To answer for the Xbox One sleep timer:

There already are options to have the Xbox One automatically turn off.

If you go to Settings --> Power & Startup --> Options, you'll find a drop down menu to have the system turn off after 1 hour, 6 hours, or none. It is a bit limited, but that's what's there for you.

To answer for turning off the Xbox via Smartglass (now just "Xbox" app):

There is one simple workaround. Press the icon that looks like a remote controller once you connect to your Xbox (in iOS, it's at the bottom right). You now have touch-screen styled buttons to control the Xbox. Place and hold your finger on the Xbox logo
button (for a couple seconds), and then the "What do you want to do?" pop up will appear on the TV. Swipe up once, and tap the screen (to press "A"). Now your Xbox will turn off!

Ok, well idk what happened but all of a sudden the "Power Off" button is back.

As far as the "sleep timer". Can we just get a real one that we can set a timer and it shuts off regardless?

Many people like to watch stuff as they fall asleep and don't want to rely on the "INACTIVITY" timer to do it because it's unreliable. If an app is still open, the Xbox will not count that as inactivity. Such as Netflix, it may stop playing after 3-4 shows
with no interaction, but the app will stay open.

I haven't seen a way to get this setting specifically, and I've seen a lot of people request it. You can leave your feedback with the Xbox Insiders on reddit here.

    Sleep timer on xbox one

    Hello Sayomi,

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. This is odd, as i definitely sleep to youtube almost dailey and wake up to my console turning off. It is possible that this is only the case with certain apps. Your controller may also need to be turned off,
do you use a wired controller?

Aside from that, are you a part of the insider program? You would have needed to sign up/get invited to the insider so if your not sure, it's likely that you are not a part of it.
