    Skyrim SE will not update to current version after gaming services reset


    Hello,

    I am playing on windows 10, and have been having some difficulty updating my Gamepass copy of Skyrim SE. It is currently on version 1.22.6, and I would like to play the current 1.5 update. Neither the Xbox app nor the Microsoft Store has been able to find this update, even after uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and gaming services. I have followed every troubleshooting step listed here, and still cannot update my game, it installs as 1.22.6.

    Are there any additional steps to troubleshoot this issue that I am missing?

    Hello Brendan, have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 22H2?

    See which version of Windows 10/11 you have

    Updates are often seen as optional.

    If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update, and make all subsequent security updates.

    Download Windows 10

    Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App.

    ALL XBOX360 backwards compatibility DVD's are unreadable on XBOX One X!

    Report:

    1) Turn off your console and unplug it for 30 seconds. --> No fixed, same Problem

    2) Remove and redownload your profile --> No fixed, same Problem

    3) Factory reset your console keeping games and apps --> No fixed, same Problem (get update in the Factory reset process)

    test DVD's after these 3 steps above

    Works fine:

    Fallout 4 - Xbox One DVD with digital Version on Hard Drive

    Skyrim SE - Xbox One DVD with digital Version on Hard Drive

    No working:

    Fallout New Vegas - 360 Downgrade with digital Version on Hard Drive

    Wichter 2 - 360 Downgrade with digital Version on Hard Drive

    CoD BO 2 - 360 Downgrade with digital Version on Hard Drive

    Tomb Raider Anniversary - New Install and download try of the 360 digital Downgrade

    Tomb Raider Legend - New Install and download try of the 360 digital Downgrade

    PC Game Pass Destiny 2 crashes at launch

    I followed the steps in the video that was provided to install an older version of gaming services and it works now. Although it does cause the problem of not being able to download the current games. We'll just have to wait for Bungie to fix this issue with the updated version of gaming services. As of now though, it does work.

    Can you verify whether or not your Xbox app and Gaming services are updated to the latest version?

    Open the Xbox App

    • Click your profile icon at the top right corner of the page
    • Select "Settings"
    • Select "About" on the left panel
    The first set of numbers under "Version" will display the current version of your Xbox App.

    Current versions:

    Xbox App: 2112.1001.10.0

    Gaming Services: 3.60.12001.0

    Unable to update Skyrim SE

    I’ve already tried that but the issue is still there. In fact I’m using a new console now but this problem was also present on my old console (I noticed it last year but I thought I’d wait awhile for the update to rollout). I have a friend that’s experiencing
    this issue as well.

    Could the problem be with the Xbox Store? Somehow the update is just not being delivered to our systems.
