Skyrim gets a black screen with audio when starting new game or loading a save

i don't even get the menu.

in the dashboard i can see the skyrim logo in the play game box, so i click and the screen goes black and thats it.

Sometimes the Skyrim logo appears and the music plays, but no usual 'load game', start game' etc etc.

I'm experiencing the same issue with a brand new Xbox One. I was playing EA Sports UFC and Ryse. UFC glitched amd then went to the start screen and when I try to load the game, the loading screens takes FOREVER. With Ryse, I get a black screen during the
loading sequence.

I'm having the exact same issues with Skyrim on a On Demand copy! There is NO DVD and I still get "Disc Unreadable" whenever I load a save. This is not an xbox hardware issue, something with Skyrim itself is buggy.

I can start a new game fine, save.. and load those saves. But trying to load my previous saves crashes. I've tried from USB, Cloud Saves, and hard drive. All fail.

I'm having this problem as well and cannot fix it.

I've tried:

-Clearing my cache and redownloading the patch

-Deleting my 3 autosaves

-Transfering every save file (359) to a usb to see if any are corrupt and won't transfer

-Transfering my save to a usb and trying to load it from there

-Trying to start a new game from my HDD with no Skyrim content at all on it

-Singing out of my profile and starting a new game with no profile signed in

-Playing a different game (BF3) and that worked fine

None of these things which I have tried have fixed the problem.

To clarify, I can start the game as normal and get to the title screen. When I try to load a game or start a new one, the "Disc Unreadable" error pops up. However, the Skyrim music is still playing in the background.

While starting or loading the game, I can hear the disc whirring as it normally does. Then, it stops making noise and the error screen pops up. I don't know if this means anything or makes any difference.

If you have the problem where your saves just sit there and load forever, here is how you fix it.

1. Start the game, select 'New Game' to begin a new Skyrim Game.

2. When the game starts, you will be in the prision wagon on the way into helgen, from here hit start to bring up your menu.

3. Select the save that you need and load it from inside the new game.

The save should load and the problem should be corrected. Try that and let us know if it worked for you.
