    I've been playing Skyrim for a long time on my Xbox 360. I haven't taken it out or anything and then one day I turned on the system and told to play Skyrim. Everything was fine up until it got to the menu screen and I told it to continue my saved data it
    then suddenly at an error message that the disc can't be read and that the disc needed to be clean. I then did just that, and cleaned the disc but that didn't work. I tried another copy of Skyrim that a friend of mine had and that couldn't read. I then tried
    a different disc and that worked. It seems like the problem is only with Skyrim. Please, I don't want to lose years of hard work, is there anything that I can do to start playing Skyrim again?

    Disk Can't be read

    So how does this happen? I play Modern Warfare 2 for a good 3 hours. Turn my xbox off after dashboarding and then go take a shower. I come back turn my xbox on and try to start mw2 and it says disk cannot be read. I've opened it and closed it, turned console
    off on, and then I tried cleaning the disk. How does this happen?

    Check through this posted by Mister Fitzer for some tips with disc read issues OP.

    Uh oh... that shouldn't have happened.

    Hopefully something in there will help you....

    Try installing the game onto the HDD. If it still doesn't work delete all updates for the game by clearing your HDD cache, then boot the game again, let it redownload.

    Hello Estella,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand the console will not read the DLC disk for Skyrim. We recommend trying the

    troubleshoot guide for unable to read disc    .

    If continues to have issues there may be an issue with the disc itself.

    Xbox one disc drive after update!!

    I had the same issue to disc drive after preview update on march...I insert a disc and play...after I eject disc and drive pull disc into...I reject and finally I can change the game and not reading... it says to clean the disc..but the disc is cleaned...then
    I reboot consolle pressing for 5 8 seconds and drive return to read...boh...I called microsoft but although all I continue having same problems...so I thought an update problem or not!? what do you think?

    Disc Read Error

    Having this problem with Skyrim. All other games work fine, but Skyrim after 15 hours of play has decided to give a disc read error on attempting to re load my save file. Disc looks perfect and all other games play fine. What the hell is going on?

    DAVIDB67 - Yeah, it's got a few scratches on it, but it's worked great up until now.

    SentinelRax - How do I install it on my HD without buying it again? And it reads all of my other discs just fine, but I will try that. Thanks. :)
