    Alpha Skip Ahead / rs_xbox_dev_flight_230411-2000

    Network status: no issues, all services available



    Since last Thursday update, games randomlywon't (fully) launch/start.

    When I launch a game:

    • the game won't launch/load at all > screen turns immediately to a black screen
    • a game partially loads until the "Press the A button" request. After that, the image goes black. Example: Forza Horizon games load and show the PG/T10 intros. The moment you normally have to press the A button to continue, the image goes black.

    Applies to all games, owned games, subscription based games like Game Pass or Gold.

    The above does not apply to apps. These do launch and load.

    At least as long as you do not start a game that refuses to load (but of course you cannot know that in advance). If a game refuses to load then after that the entire Xbox is virtually frozen.

    No tile on the dashboard responds to user input (buttons). Navigating the cursor does work.

    This makes it impossible to report a problem via the console.



    Restarting the console (using the button on the console) usually solves the problem.

    The problem seems to occur randomly after booting the console. The above problem does not always occur.

    Sometimes it occurs once while the console starts up and functions normally before and after. But sometimes the problem occurs several times in a row.

    My game did, however if you go into My games and apps on the Xbox and check in the updates section there. Also if you launch Forza and it requires an update the game won't launch but will then start the update.

    I have the same problem. After the last update (~800MB) the game freezes and reboots the console. This happens after 5-20 minutes of gameplay.

    Try unplugging power from back of console for ~30 seconds and plugging back in. Just worked for me. Might have been an update that requires hard reboot? Not sure, but last update none of my games would launch until I unplugged and waited 30secs. Hope

    Not sure if it's similar, but since the last update my Xbox one will freeze. It starts slow, a little lag, then if I try and turn it off it freezes. I have to unplug the console to reset it.
