Since day one on GTA V online i cannot connect to many of my friends, lobbies are empty (freemode and job), if i do get into a lobby with people i get a connection error and booted to story mode within 5 min or less. When is this getting fixed? Plugged
my 360 back up and the xbox one is sadly in the corner collecting dust.... Its not worth playing right now.

Ping problem

thanks chemist, hopefully they get it set up soon. the lobbies that I get a good connection on must be the azure cloud servers. sometimes I spent up to an hour trying to get into a lobby with players with out getting the unknown connection error or the
whole lobby leaving (GTA 5)

Grand Theft Auto V Online Public Lobby (XBOX ONE)

OKAY SO I GOT MY XBOX ONE RIGHT ALONG WITH GTA V FOR CHRISTMAS,EVERY SINGLE TIME I JOIN ONLINE THEY PUT ME IN A GAME BY MYSELF. SO I'M ALONE AND HAVE NO ONE TO PLAY WITH. I INVITE MY FRIENDS BUT THEY JOIN BUT 3 MINUTES LATER I LAG OUT THE GAME. SO I'M IN
THE GAME BY MYSELF. SO AFTER THIS HAPPENS I GO TO "FIND A NEW SESSION" THEN IT STILLS PUT ME IN A PUBLIC LOBBY BY MYSELF. MY NAT TYPE IS OPEN. ALSO IF I TRY TO JOIN ANY MISSION ALONE THEN IT'LL SAY "FAILED TO LOAD JOB OR ACTIVITY " the crazy thing is that
i have an xbox 360 and i still play it to this day. And I have GTA V on that too. On Xbox 360 they put me in public lobbies and lots of people are online in those lobbies. Gta V, I don't have a problem with it on the 360 but on the xbox one I do. SOMEBODY
PLEASE HELP ME!!

The patch(es) that they released were meant to clean this up, but if the problem is still there, perhaps check to make sure your NAT is open to give you the best shot at joining people.

There is a few bugs in online I've noticed but it has improved for me since some of the recent patches.

i reboot and check network everytime i play as habit.... its terrible to have to baby the NEW console just to play a game... ive forwarded all ports and NAT IS OPEN generally...all the time. any other ideas?....that suggestion is like a broken record...

I've tried several solutions as well, port forwarding seems to work somewhat. However a direct connection to the modem is where I experience the most success.... which is a pain in the rear

I have had problems with Gta online on my xbox one as well. To the point where I got tired of dealing with my router settings. I took a powerline plug and hardwired my xbox one into that. I have a open NAT type now everytime. My internet connection speed
is good and still its a mixed bag with GTA online for me. Sometimes I am able to get into sessions with more then one person and other times I am not. Its beyond frustrating since I specifically bought my xbox one for gta. I agree that Rockstar support is
useless. Its all automated responses. One suggestion I can make that did work for me one time is this.

Change your DNS settings to

8.8.8.8

8.8.4.4

Will this work for you? I dont know. Even if it does you will still find yourself either being booted from a session or put in a lobby by yourself.

Maybe if enough of us get together and start some kind of petition it will force rockstar to at least acknowledge there is a issue

Rockstar is more useless then MS support when it comes to this issue which is saying something. R* will only blame your network for the empty lobby issue and suggest port forwarding or DMZ. Myself and many other have done both and it doesn't do anything,
the problem is server side and R* won't admit to it. Reddit, GTAforums and many other places are littered with threads on the issue but from my research no one has really found a way to correct this. Some say joining from single player instead of the main
loading screen helps as well as does clearing your Xbox One cache (hold power button till Xbox is fully off, unplug power cord from back , wait 5 mins then plug back in and turn on).
