Sim steering wheel and keyboard simultaneously???

Hi, im planning on building a diy handbrake for my xbox one but would like know if you can use a sim steering wheel and keyboard simultaneously as im planning on using a pcb out of a keyboard to activate the handbrake but still need inputs from the wheel.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand you have question if steering wheel and keyboard will work together on Xbox. They should work just fine as there are multiple USB ports the Xbox. As far as the other that would kind of fall under self repair,
so unable to comment on it. You may want to checkout the Forza forums for insight on that.

If I could offer my two cents, I've seen some steering rig and arcade board creations come out of using the Xbox Adaptive Controller. So if you're looking for another project after that, that could be a good place to start.

if you can get a sequential gear shift you could remap that in the controls so that pulling it registered as handbrake and use the paddles for shifting gears. I used to do that when I used a wheel on my PC and it worked perfectly.

keyboard and mouse, steering wheel etc all fall under controller i.e. something you hold in your hand to control the game.

Anyway apart from touchscreen (keyboard and mouse for pc) the rest are gimmicks i.e. steering wheels and flight sticks are gimmicks otherwise people would play racer and flying sims without them.

Its like kinect games, just gimmicks.

If he likes the sim drivers that much you should consider getting a steering wheel controller.
