Signed in to XBOX on PC with wrong account - need to correct

I have a new account in Windows 10 and started playing a game and inadvertently created a new Xbox account associated with this new account (associated with a Microsoft account). Is there a way to log out of that Xbox account and resign in to the other account
and associated this Xbox account with the Microsoft account? Very frustrating because there isn't an obvious way to do this. MS has made this account system across the platform very confusing and is seemingly irreparable if a mistake is made.

Gamertag Association to Microsoft Account

The gamertag that is associated with my microsoft account is wrong and i cant seem to change it. On xbox live my gamertag is correct but the email is wrong. how do I get microsoft mt correct information? Should I re-sign up for an xbox live account on
PC using my correct gamertag and email? thanks

 

Credentials error

Hey guys.


I don't know if am allowed to post help threads as I see no specific sections but I thought I needed to get help from somewhere.

I'm getting an error when trying to download my old account. It still has xbox gold ( and gold pp901m on mw3 and i guesss ) and i need to get the account back so i can play on it again.

This is what the error says . ( for some reason you can't dl profiles offline but you used to be able to )

ERROR: Sorry, there's a problem with the credentials that you are using to sign in.

Visit https:// account.live .com to fix the problem.

I have gone to account.live and tried to sign in with my old account. but it says password is wrong ( even though the DL profiles says it's correct ) I have also gone to Can't access your account but that is no help niether is Google or Youtube.

open the xbox app and click on settings

you can sign out there
