Shrinkable games

on checking out the Mange storage area of options I’ve found that there is a shrinkable games option and a Forza 7 shows that it can be shrunk by 28.6 GB. Anyone know what’s actual happens if I do shrink?

Do you have the download 4k assets option switched on?

It's in the Backup&Transfer options

Apparently the main function of shrink option is to be able to delete all the 4k assets to save hard drive space. This is especially useful on the OG xbox One and the Xbox One S as they can't actually use the 4k assets

Thanks for asking a great question here on the forums. As our Ambassadors have outlined, it is essentially a way to make a bit more storage on your console by removing old add-ons and "shrinking" the space taken up by currently installed (and mainly
unused) games. If you happen to have an external hard drive, you can also manage the storage on it in this manner as well.

Shrinkable games are games that allow "cleaning and organization" of installed files, reducing the size it occupies on the storage device.

As a couple of the others have mentioned, maybe it just strips away the things you dont need. Texture Packs, additional languages, unneeded data that could be streamed from the cloud rather than stored on your xbox.

Sure would help with the limited space though.
