"Show in store" button not working for MSFS beta

Thanks. Like you, I did purchase MSFS 2020 from the Microsoft Store and I had to install the XBox (beta) app. to make it work.

Very weird to say the least!

I have no interest in Xbox and it's annoying to have the Xbox buttons in the top right of my screen with the funny player's name that was assigned.

I can also confirm this worked for me on PC. I downloaded the XBOX app via the store.

Then, in store, clicked the three dots.

Then "downloads and updates" and sure enough there was an update for MSFS 2020 1.19.9.0. This was 507.0MB.

I then started MSFS 2020 which went to its own install manager and showed me the "Standard Content" mandatory update which was 108.12MB. The total download, however, was 3.19GB.

I then downloaded all available updates in content manager.

Once all this was complete I quit to desktop and restarted MSFS 2020 without issue.

I think it's VERY strange to need to install the XBOX app for any updates to show in the PC's Microsoft store!!

I resolved a similar issue and are posting here in case someone finds it useful.

My World Map would intermittently crash when pressing the "FLY" button.

Clearing the game's cache makes logical sense, however the instructions in earlier posts above are for the Microsoft Store version of MSFS. It didn't work for the Steam version of MSFS.

What did work for the Steam version was deleting corrupted MSFS indexing and / or caching files stored locally, by following the official instructions here: How to fix loading issues after clicking "Fly" or "Ready to fly" button

In essence, for the Steam version of MSFS, I deleted the following folders in C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator

Folders to Delete:

• SceneryIndexes
  
• SceneryCache
  
• DCE
  

Following above, my World Map crashing issues were resolved.

Hi Robert,

since the Saitek controller is not directly supported by MSFS 2020, you have to create your own profile (Main Menu -> Controller).

There was a link to a youtube video earlier in that thread, that shows how to to that. Basically you tell MSFS which button/axis on your controller, is mapped to which action in flight sim.

So there is some manual work to do, but after that it works great without any crashes.

Even though I have the email stating that my transaction is complete, MSFS is not showing in the MS Store app library.

I have tried to install by clicking on the View or Manage your Order button, then Order History. This takes me to Xbox.com which brings up the purchase, with the Install To button being green. The next window opened is the Install this content to an Xbox console or PC. I don’t need or want Xbox game pass.

I guess the problem is that the purchase is not showing up in the MS Store app. Yes, I have reset that app several times.
