    Should I keep the 120 hz mode on the Xbox Series X settings even when playing 60hz games.


    I just received the Xbox series X and I have a 144hz monitor so I switched the Xbox hz from 60 to 120 to play gears 5. Does anybody know if I was to play a game that isn’t 120 FPS do I need to switch if back to the 60 hz mode on the Xbox settings or just keep it at 120?

    I also played warzone yesterday with the 120 hz mode still on but the game is capped at 60hz. The frame counter on my monitor was saying that I was getting around 100-110 frames even though the game is capped at 60hz. I’m so confused haha.

    Series S bad HDR on a 4K TV

    1440p 120 Hz but 4k 60hz if you really want 4k

    Keep in mind games will drop your resolution if it's too high for their settings

    You need series x and hdmi 2.1 for 4k 120hz

    It's important to leave vvr on

    Xbox Series S does not and will not support 2K at 120hz with HDMI 2.0

    HDMI 2.0 only supports 1440p60 or 1080p120.
    If you want a higher resolution with 120fps, you'll need a HDMI 2.1 cable.

    Your Series S also supports 4k with up to 120fps, just like the Series X.

    Besides that, it is important to clarify that you need to check if the monitor you want to get supports 120 Hz via the HDMI port, most monitors support 120 Hz and above via Display Port only.

    You can check if your monitor supports 120 Hz via HDMI, if the timing is exactly 120 Hz and not (for example) 119.99 Hz and more by checking the manual or contacting the manufacturer.

    You won't get 120 fps on that TV, as it's only a 60hz display, 60hz = 60 fps at most

    To get up to 120 fps at 4K, you need a TV that supports 120hz and has HDMI 2.1 ports and again your TV only has HDMI 2.0 ports, but most games on the Series X are locked to 60 fps at 4K,

    Something like the LG CX is the best TV to get at the moment, and that's a TV that can go 4K at 120hz,

    A 60hz display = up to a maximum of 60 fps

    A 120hz display = up to a maximum of 120 fps.
