Should I get this if I've never played Dragon Age before?

I like Mass Effect and Skyrim, I've watched trailers of the game, and it looks really good. But I've never played the first two games and I'd prefer to honestly just jump right into this. I wouldn't have any saved data to transfer over from the first two
games so I'm not sure if the story would be different for me since I have no choices from the first two games to transfer over? But anyway it looks really good and I just want some opinions.

I couldn't get into Dragon Age Origins and never played the second one, I think this looks good but I won't get it not having completed the last 2 games.

I've been wanting to give the first game another try though.

I've never played the Dragon Age games, but hear people dumping on the sequel all of the time, is this the reason why? I mean, would your opinion of the game improve if that element were to be removed?

Get the game you won't get some of the story references but it doesn't really matter

I borrowed the first game from my friend for 360 for a day and its pretty good. I'll definitely pick Inquisition up by Black Friday. You can add me and we can help each other out if we both have the game.

 

There is an online Dragon Age Keep to automatically choose your story from the previous games, it probably won't make much sense. But you can choose what happened previously then load it into the game. If you google Kotaku Dargon Age Inquisition Tips it
has a good explanation of the general lore and such. It is a good idea to go through this before playing imo if you haven't played the previous ones.

 

Yes, no past knowledge required. There is lore everywhere. The only thing that gets confusing is the different factions of Mages. I say that because I forgot all about the lobotomized mages and the reasons they get neutered. But this is the best RPG
next gen has offered in my opinion.

 

Haven't played da before and I'm having a blast so far.

 

Same as above, first time playing DA but it is similar to the way Elder Scrolls plays. Don't regret buying it at all.

 

I have to agree with FlintyGuil79, DA:I for me is WAY better than Skyrim and even though I have no clue what is going on in terms of the lore as I only played DA:O for a few hours, its just a fantastic game and will be playing it for a long time to come.

Never played Dragon Age before this one. Wished I had now. 105 hours of play and still got about a quarter of the campaign to finish

 

yes..i never played the others, and this is now one of my fav all time games
