Shivering Isles not working on Elder Scrolls Oblivion

So I only recently noticed Oblivion is now backwards compatible. However Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine are not working even though I installed them. I noticed that people with the Game of the Year edition have found a way to get them to work but
I simply have the original 360 disc and the expansion pack and nothing I try is working. Can anyone help?

OBLIVION: Shivering Isles DLC Q/A.

IT has been a very long time since ive played oblivion but what a great game it was, i was thinking about the new elder scrolls game comming out this fall and i fancied playing in the realms once again but i have a small simple question for the fans
of the series.

Is Shivering isles a stand alone DLC/disk?

the trouble is i want to play shivering isles but i dont have a copy of Oblivion any more and it would be nice if i didnt have to buy the whole game just to play Shivering Isles

If the DLC is on disc then the disc needs to be in the console while you're playing.

 

I'm afraid no matter what disc i put in while i play the extra content will not work. Also the game can't. be played with the expansion pack disc, only the Oblivion disc.

 

Which edition of Oblivion do you own specifically? Let's start by
uninstalling Oblivion from your Xbox One console and start fresh. Once everything has been uninstalled, insert Disc 2 inside your Xbox One console to install both the game and DLC (Oblivion should be able to install from Disc 2). Once Oblivion has started
installing, navigate to the
Oblivion's 'Ready to install' list to find the DLC. Once the game and the DLC is installed, try launching the game from Disc 2.

I bought these discs separately. They didn't come together like the Game of the Year edition. The second disc is all it says it is, an expansion pack. This disc simply installs Shivering Isle and Knights of the nine but not the actual game. I've tried installing
the expansion pack first and then the actual game but still the content does not work.

 

That explains it then. DLC discs are usually only shipped as a package with the full game. These discs usually only work with the version of the game it came with and no other version. If the disc you purchased was part of a game of the year edition then
you'll need to get a copy of that disc.

 

The disc I bought is not part of the Game of the Year edition. It is the original Oblivion edition, and when they first released Shivering Isles they released it on a disc of its own which i bought. This content works just fine on the 360 but not the One.

In order to use the Shivering Isles DLC disc on Xbox One, you must own the digital version of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion to play. Unfortunately it is not possible to use the Shivering Isles disc with alongside the disc version of Oblivion.

So I have to buy the game I already bought....guess I'll just play without Shivering Isles
