Sharing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and playing Battlefield 2042 10 hour trial through EA Play

So I have Battlefield 2042 preordered, and I was trying to go through the steps that Xbox had put up on their support site with regards to how they knew that accounts that had preordered the game had had issues with starting the trial of the game. Well, I tried going through those steps last night, but when I try to start the EA play trial in the Microsoft store, it says that I have to purchase EA play for my account, even though I have access to EA play through the shared Xbox game pass ultimate subscription that my brother and I share on different Xbox consoles. So I decided to put that off last night and call Xbox support this morning, and the first woman I spoke to informed me that I would need to have my own active EA play subscription for that (which I think is bogus since I have access to the service already) and so I decided to try and get a second opinion and call Xbox support again to see if someone else had another answer. I spoke to a gentleman this time, and he told me the same thing, and when I pressed him on that and asked if there was anything else that could be done since I already have access to EA play, he HUNG UP ON ME. I should have recorded the phone calls because I am sure the internet would blow up over a tech support agent hanging up on someone like that, and I should have chosen the option to have the call recorded on Xbox's end so that maybe they would be able to trace this guy down and kindly remove him from his position. This dude shouldn't be hanging up on people, and he more than likely did so because he probably knew that the call WASN'T going to be recorded.
