    Sharing Minecraft via Family Account


    I purchased Minecraft under my Microsoft account and want to allow my child to access it via their account using the same laptop. They are set up in my Microsoft Family Group and I cannot see the purchase anywhere other than in my account. Web searches say they just need to log into their Microsoft account, go to the Microsoft store and download it, but this just tells them to purchase it again, when it is already downloaded on the laptop and accessible when I log on as me. Please tell me what I'm missing.

    The sharing of games through the Family Group used to be possible, but recently, based on reports from other Family Group administrators (and my personal testing), it seems that it isn't possible to share games through it anymore. It would be necessary to sign in to the adult account on the Xbox app, and then check if you can download the game from there.

    Unfortunately, Minecraft purchases you've made on a Microsoft account are tied to your account and can't be shared via family sharing. Only the game itself can be shared: passes and consumables cannot.

    Unfortunately Xbox live discontinued their family membership to pursue game pass, however I do recommend that you have the 2 adult accounts with the Xbox live membership and share with the child accounts via home share feature on consoles

    Yes we have two accounts. The problem seems to be both licenses. So the owned game and the xbox ultimate account are held by the one xbox account.

    One of us via family sharing should be able to play the owned version of forza. The other should be able to play the xbox ultimate version via family sharing also.

    doesnt matter which one is played by PC and which by xbox.

    forza is owned and installed on both PC and Xbox.

    both signed into accounts on PC and Xbox.

    Yes, in most cases you can share DLC from one account to another via the Home setting. Bear in mind that Bungie has had issues in the past when it comes to DLC and some people have not been able to share. However, as for Destiny 2, I have not yet had
    any issues with sharing the content with my family via the Home setting.
