Sharing Game Pass Ultimate/Xbox Live across 2 consoles in same household

I have two consoles in my house. My "home console" is my Xbox One X in our living room and is directly wired to our home network router. The second console is my original Xbox One in our basement and is connected wirelessly to the same router.

I have the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription with my Microsoft account and as stated, I have my living room Xbox One X set as my home console.

The only other person in our household who I share the Game Pass with is my son, who usually plays on whatever console is available, but primarily the Xbox One X if I'm not using it.

I'm trying to understand if I can share the Game Pass Ultimate benefits with my son on both consoles. I've read multiple threads on this with one single common answer, which is to set one console as your home console and then either one of us will be able
to sign into either console to use the Game Pass features. That is all fine and dandy. I've done that. My question is not about whether we can use Game Pass on either console, my question is can we BOTH use Game Pass on BOTH consoles...AT THE SAME TIME?

The problem that doesn't get addressed in the threads I've read so far is that I have to be signed in with my account on a given console in order to use the Game Pass features. Sure, it's no problem for my son to go downstairs and sign me in and then he
can use Game Pass with his own account, or go back upstairs and sign me in there and still use his own account with Game Pass. That is not the problem. The problem is that I have to be signed in on the same console he is using in order for him to use Game
Pass Ultimate (which also means Xbox Live). That means if he is playing an online multiplayer game (Game Pass or not) with friends using Xbox Live on one console and I want to play something else on the other console, as soon as I go to the other console,
I will need to sign in with my own account which has the GPU subscription which signs me out of my son's console and instantly cuts off his "shared" GPU benefits and his ability to communicate with his friends through Xbox Live.

So maybe I've missed something somewhere, but if there's a way we can both use GPU on both consoles at the same time, I need help understanding how to set it up. If that is not possible and I just need to get him his own GPU subscription, I will be disappointed
if not slightly furious, but at least I will have my answer.

Sorry for the exhaustive question but I just haven't been able to find any other thread that seems to address the issue of concurrent and/or simultaneous use of GPU.

Hello Aintry,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have question on home console set up. In short, if your account is the one with the subscription, you can access both consoles with no issues. Your son however, can use the console set as home with
no issues. If he uses the other console, your profile will need to be signed in. So basically the answer is no cant use both profiles on either console at any time. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Game sharing is only allowed with in households

I was wondering if i were to game share with one of my friends who has the game pass and another friend who doesn’t have the game pass gameshares with me. Would my friend without the game pass get the game pass games as well because they are games
sharing with me or not.

As [Farscape] states the home Xbox feature is meant for sharing your games/gold subscription/etc across 2 consoles that you personally own in the same household.

It was never meant for sharing with friends and doing so is actually against the rules.

If u reset your xbox one but press (keep all games & apps ) wants you set your xbox back up can u still play the games your friends game shared with you

Does your friend live in the same household as you? If not then what you are doing is actually against the rules.

The "home xbox" feature is meant for sharing games across two different Xboxs in the same household so that you dont have to pay for the same game twice across two consoles you own. It was never meant to share games with friends

Me and my friend have each other's Xbox ones set as our home consoles. Then out of nowhere it reset so we have no home console. I can still swap back, but my friend ran out of switches because of this problem. I already tried
contacting support about this issue but they said any issues with home xbox aren't a valid reason to talk with a member of the support staff. I need help.

To add hopefully your friend lives in the same household as you. If not then using the home xbox feature in this manner is actually against the terms of service.

It was meant for sharing your games/gold/etc across 2 systems you personally own/are in the same household and was never meant for sharing games to people outside of your household

We live across the street from each other and we share discs and stuff all the time
