  1. Shared Content/Game DVR problem

Hi. I'm having a small issue with sharing content with my friends via messages and the activity feed. I have confirmed it is my Xbox doing this.

Firstly, my friends cannot see any of my clips, screenshots, etc I share with them, but I can see them perfectly fine. (I was looking through the settings to find the option to toggle who can see the said clips and all. It was already set to everybody. And
the option to share them, which was already set to allow.)

Secondly, I got some friends to message a clip and a screenshot to me, and no problem whatsoever, I can view them.

It started doing this when I shared the gamertag change thing that appears in the activity feed to 32 (max limit) of my friends (it had an error saying it failed to send, but it was sent anyway), then the rest of my friends. They couldn't view what it was.
I sent it again, and the same story.

I'm a bit frustrated and I would like some help.

    :)

Does anyone know how to edit video and put it back on your xbox one?

From the Game DVR screen within the Xbox app, you can access and edit all game clips recorded on Windows 10, as well as clips shared from your Xbox One. Editing in the Xbox app is restricted to Trim at this time. For more info:

Game DVR shared section not working

Everytime I try to load the shared section it says "Something went wrong with loading this info try again later. Something went wrong"

I use my shared section all the time so this is rather annoying. Anyone got any help in this area? All the other DVR sections are working fine.

  4. Shared Content/Game DVR problem

    Hey there Kitten Claymore,

Sounds like you sent a message to too many people at the same time and it failed due to that. Are you able to share activity feed items to just one person to see if that works? Would you also be able to try sharing items using a different profile to see
if the same thing is happening?

To clarify, is this issue happening with all games as well or just one game in particular you are trying to share.

    Let us know!

  5. Mascot, I did try the activity feed, but no dice.

I did try a new account and it's still doing it.

It's happening with all the games I play mostly. I haven't tried any 360 games though, I'll find out and post an update.

  6. And nope, doesn't work with 360 games either.

    Hey Kitten Claymore -

Thanks for the additional information. Let's try double checking all the settings related to sharing.

    • From Xbox One dashboard, open the 'Settings' menu from the Xbox One Guide
    • Select 'All Settings'
    • Select 'Account'
    • Select 'Privacy & Online Safety'
    • Select 'View Details & Customize'
    • Scroll right to, 'Others can see your game clips and screenshots' and check that this setting is not set to 'Blocked'
    • Scroll right to 'You can see and share content' and check that this setting is not set to 'Blocked'
    • Scroll right to 'You can share game clips and screenshots and check that this setting is not set to 'Blocked'
In those three areas, please make sure that you have the appropriate permissions to view content set for your friends, favorites, or no one.

Let us know if that helps!

  8. Shared Content/Game DVR problem

Bijoux, I already had these options set to everybody or allow.

I addressed this already by saying:

"(I was looking through the settings to find the option to toggle who can see the said clips and all. It was already set to everybody. And the option to share them, which was already set to allow.)"

I didn't say anything about the 'You can see and share content' option, because I'm not the best at explaining things and clumsy, but that was set to everybody also.

    Hi Kitten Claymore -

Gotcha. Have you tried resetting your privacy settings to 'Adult Default' and then re-setting them to your desired settings? If that doesn't work, I would suggest trying to

    Factory Reset Your Xbox One
console. You will notice that there are two ways of doing this. I suggest performing the first option that allows you to 'keep my games and apps' as the second option completely erases everything.

Give that a shot and let us know if it helps!

  10. Bijoux, the first option didn't work, so I'll try factory resetting my Xbox (without removing the games and others, of course).

    Wish me luck. > - <

  11. And no, it is still happening.

They still cannot view anything. They're getting the 'something went wrong' error, if that helps in any way possible.

Hmm that's odd indeed. Are your friends getting an error code along with the message? It'd look something like 0x00000000.

Also, is this only happening with content from one game or is it happening with all games? Have you also tried sharing content from another game?

In the meantime, try sharing something with my Gamertag () and let's see if I can see it. Shared Content/Game DVR problem :)

Sorry for a late reply, but anyway.

No. They report either a black screen or the 'something went wrong' thing.

    All that I tested with.

And I'll send a screenshot right now.

Kitten I'm having the exact same problem and a friend is experiencing it also. The one thing myself and my friend have in common in regard to the problem is that we both use "appear offline" in our privacy settings so we think that might have something to
do with it. The problem just started recently and I never had problems sharing content in the past so maybe there was some update that messed things up.

Do you use the appear offline option?

Do your friends get the "something went wrong" message when trying to view your content? That's what my friends say they get.

  15. Milosovich, yes, I do use that option.

And again, yes, I said something about that already.
