Share Game Pass Ultimate on same Xbox

Hi all,

Sorry if this has already been covered but I can’t find a definitive answer.

My son got an Xbox S for Christmas and we got a 3 month pass for Game Pass Ultimate. We (hastily) added this to one of the accounts on the Xbox and this does work fine - we can play online and download games, but unfortunately this isn’t my sons primary account. The issue is that when we login with another account (on the same Xbox) it does not give the option for cloud play but you can install games. From other posts I have read online I think cloud play should be available for all accounts on that same Xbox is this correct? If so any ideas why this isn’t working?

I have set each account on the Xbox as their Home Xbox but this doesn’t make any difference.

On game pass ultimate both accounts need to have the game pass since there isn't any game sharing on pc, I came across the same issue but it fixed itself when both myself and partner got Xbox game pass ultimate at the same time.

On PC, even if Xbox Game Pass Ultimate there is no option to share it yet but if you're pertaining to Xbox console, yes, you can share Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

We have 4 four consoles.

One for each member of the house. The way I set it up was that my wife and myself share Game Pass Ultimate with the gameshare feature(Set console as home Xbox)

I also did the same with the kids. They share their own Game Pass Ultimate subscription

Since you can only share with one additional console, this is the only way to do it.

Cloud gaming is only available for the account that has purchased the subscription. It doesn't work with Gameshare.
