setup xbox on pc

Regarding the error message that you receive when you try to get connection on your Xbox 360, I suggest that you try following the troubleshooting steps on this link Troubleshoot Xbox 360 connection to Xbox Live | Xbox Support in order to resolve your issue.

xbox 360 does not support gamepass so why would you have that.

I am connected via Ethernet cable from modem to 360. But, I do have a wireless adapter...

I've had this happen to me before, you need to reset your Windows Media library. Link on how to below:

Note: This won't delete any media, just the library which points to it. You may have to set up your library's pointers to different drives/folders afterward but that's pretty quick and painless.
