    So my Xbox Series X uses Dolby Atmos for Headphones, my headphones are connected to TV via optical audio.

    I also have the microphone from a Hyberx Cloud that I can plug in to the controller or plugin the whole HyperX Cloud to the controller.

    I have tried to get it to work so that I can talk & listen to my friends but for some reason, doesn't work at all.

    I am not sure what settings are necessary so I approach the community to help me through it.

    In this case to talk to the microphone only if your Microphone has the correct pinout for the control, one solution is also to use the Discord App on the mobile phone to chat with the groups.

    Headsets that connect wired in the controller must follow the CTIA pattern on the connection pin.

    If your headset is wireless with a base for signal transmission, you'll need to see on the manufacturer's website whether it's compatible with the new generation.

    Thank you for the response.

    Optical Out from TV (LG Nano81TNA) is connected to SMSL M500 which is driving the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro headphones.

    What I want to do is be able to use some form microphone to be able to communicate in games.

    I mentioned HyperX because that is the one I have, all I wanna know is if it is possible to setup a microphone for conversations so that I can still use my DT 1990 Pro (via TV optical) while also being able to talk.

    HyperX works for gaming + comm as I can connect directly to my controller.

    But I am using headphones via TV optical out -- It is effectively an HDMI headset. I am able to game on the headphones but not talk.

    I want to know how to tweak my setup so that I can game using my DT 1990 Pro (HDMI headset) and talk using any external microphone on controller

    I do know how to use hyperX as a headset (plug in to controller).

    I just want to use it's mic and use DT 1990 as headphones for gaming
