Discus and support Settings. Moving audio to profile was a mistake in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; Audio settings needs to move back to where it was.     Audio settings needs to move back to where it was. I just accidentally signed myself out because of the placement of where sign out and the audio settings being just below it.

    In a recent update, Xbox moved the settings tab under “Profile.” Once you have selected settings, on the General tab, there is a “Volume & Audio output.” The chat mixer is located on this tab.

    The configuration for this is at settings / audio and video settings / volume and hasn't moved lately.

    Oops, my mistake. I misread your original post.

    Unfortunately there is no way to move save data from one profile to another. Your son will need to start over again on his own profile.

    You may need to make sure the audio and cords are full recognized.

    If they come loose or move, it could be changing the audio settings.

    A power cycle like said above can fix the problem as well
