Setting up Xbox/MAC address

I understand your frustration, but unfortunately, as a leftover from the 2013 original plans of having an "always online" console the Xbox console HAS TO connect online and do it's initial setup before you can do anything with it.

Maybe you can talk to your base's IT and have them set it up for you for the first time?

See, the problem is, I cant navigate to network settings like that page suggests if I’m doing xbox set-up. It’s a endless circle of I cant get to my settings without setting up a network, and I can’t get on my network without my MAC address. Why xbox doesn’t
have a way to view your MAC address from before having to set up your network beats me. Sony doesn’t present you with this problem, you don’t have to set up a network right away. If xbox at least let you access your settings before this, I wouldn’t be reconsidering
my purchase right now.

Suggest you call the front desk and ask for their IT department. Then, give the MAC address to the IT department and ask them to whitelist that MAC addresse. The MAC addresse is obtained from the Xbox with Settings | System | Network | {name of wireless
network} | Configure Network | Additional Settings | Advanced Settings | Alternate MAC Address | look on the left for the current MAC address.

Try clearing the MAC address. To clear the MAC address
- Go to settings -All settings- Network - Advanced network , Alternate Mac Address - clear. Your Xbox will restart
