a while ago I got an xbox for my son. It required an email address to sign up and so I entered my email address and password of my Microsoft live account. time has passed and I want to change my password to my live account but not necessarily give it to
my son. Ive told my son that I was going to change it and he said that his profile and all his statuses on the games he has will be gone if he sets up a new user.

I need to set him up with a user name / password for him and keep mine.

Xbox - have its own user / password for my son and move any points/awards/game statuses he has earned under my live.miscrosoft account

Have my own user and password for me as parent of the live.microsoft account.

I also want to have a separate log in for my skype account that I have linked under my live.microsoft account.; is that also possible?

Xbox 360 system transfer HELP

So I shared an Xbox 360 console with a sibling and we each had our own profiles. So I purchased a new 360 Slim and wanted to take everything associated with my account on the initial console (profile, achievements, game saves) to the Slim.

I transferred everything on a USB but although my profile and achievements transferred onto the USB and loads on the Slim, no game saves to be found.

What can I do to harvest the game saves from the original console without causing problems to my sibling's account and content on the original system?

Transfer data question.

Hi, to transfer content licences associated with your console you must sign in to the console with the profile used to purchase the content. Once signed in go to Settings > account > billing options and select licence transfer following the on screen instructions to transfer the licences to the new console so other profiles can use the content. Content can not be transfered across profiles only across consoles - hope this helps

You would have to create a new account for him, but he is correct that nothing can be transferred between accounts. So if you do create a new account he would have to start over and all of his progress would still be tied to your account.

The main question I had was if I play games on the Xbox 360 will those games and Achievements show up on the profile that's on the new Xbox system or will I have to play all the Xbox 360 games I want then transfer everything to the new Xbox system?

Yes, however if you want to use all of your transferred content without signing in to Xbox LIVE or with a different gamertag, you'll need to transfer the content licenses to your new console. Here’s how:

Sign in to Xbox LIVE using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.

Go to Settings, and then select Account.

Go to Your Billing Options, and then select License Transfer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer the content licenses.
