    setting up an old xbox presents me with problems...


    I created a new account for a friend.





    she wants to use streaming offers like prime on xbox 360 and play some old games.


    now they ask me for my security question and for my 4 digit pin.





    I finally deactivated the security question.

    I'm now asking what
    else is to come and whether this
    generation of consoles can still be used.

    I understand you have questions about the Xbox 360.

    Actually, there has been no updates anymore when it comes to Xbox 360 due to the newer generation that came out.

    But yes, you can still stream and play games on that console and some of the games are still updated as well depending on the version of the game. Xbox 360 is still running at the moment but is no longer being maintained.

    See, the problem is, I cant navigate to network settings like that page suggests if I’m doing xbox set-up. It’s a endless circle of I cant get to my settings without setting up a network, and I can’t get on my network without my MAC address. Why xbox doesn’t
    have a way to view your MAC address from before having to set up your network beats me. Sony doesn’t present you with this problem, you don’t have to set up a network right away. If xbox at least let you access your settings before this, I wouldn’t be reconsidering
    my purchase right now.

    unfortunatly this is annoying and I have had it done to me, as stated you would have to recover the password to your old email address and remove it from your present email. Whenever you need to verify your email it will always send the code to your old
    email. To that end, once done I suggest setting up the option to send the code to a mobile/Cell Phone.

    the headset came with the xbox and it was bought for me last year as a wedding present so it is just over a year old. it sounds to me like your telling me i have to buy another xbox since its over 30 days old

    Is that normal i have so many ads on the dashboard ?

    Ads are normal but the presentation is not. The Xbox Dashboard is set up in a way that usually represents a free model.
