Setting Up A Studio Mic For Couch Streaming On Xbox

Hi, Xbox Community!

It's almost 2020, and one of my dreams for the new year is to set up and start a Twitch stream. I use a Mac, so that's not really an option, so I'd like to stream straight from my Xbox and other consoles. The thing I'm looking to do is to hang an XLR mic
(like an AT2020 using my old Scarlett Solo interface, which does have a USB output) above my couch in front of the Xbox and TV and stream using that to get a better quality sound on my voice as well as other people sat on the couch with me. I'm not really
looking at doing anything with a camera, so this is all I need to consider. Is this possible? And if so, how would I achieve this?

I don’t think it is possible but then again I am not a specialist in this area. I believe that If you were gonna stream from your Xbox One, then the best set up you would achieve will be to add a certified for Xbox USB microphone (i think Turtle Beach do
one).

If you wanted that kind of professional set-up, its likely gonna require you to have a PC powering it all behind the scenes especially when you are looking at studio grade equipment.

Streaming via the console is going to limit your setup capability. Astro Gaming and Turtle Beach Headsets are the way to go.

A PC streaming setup is the way forward to have 3rd Party Microphones to work.

There is no support for XLR mics on the Xbox One. If you want to use an XLR mic you are going to need a PC.

I pretty much play everything in my studio which is a basic stream set up. If it's a solo game I do sometimes sit in the living room and relax on the couch, need to get a 4k TV out there though.
