Setting up 2nd Xbox in household for my daughter

I have a Xbox live gold accountant a Xbox one but I will be getting my 8 year old daughter an Xbox one for Christmas making it two separate consoles in the household,do I have set up a completely separate Microsoft account and Xbox live account or can
I do it all through my accounts? I want her to have all her own stuff on it but was not sure the best way to set it up so would be grateful for any information,many thanks in advice.George

I joined xbox live and have it going ok, my question is can i add a 2nd xbox 360 console in the same household & same internet connection for free?

I've never used Steam before, but my guess is that in a family setting a single game purchase could be played my multiple people who live in completely different locations.

Take this for example

..........

(1) Father buys " nameless game 1 "

(2) Son buys " nameless game 2 "

(3) 2nd son buys " nameless game 3 "

(4) Daughter buys " nameless game 4 "

(5) 2nd Daughter buys " nameless game 5 "

...........

My guess is that the Steam account and account password would be passed along if a family member wanted to play a certain game.

You'll want create an account for your daughter, but have it tied to your account/in your family so you can mange her account and the content she can access. More info can be found here.

If you don't want to get her a separate gold subscription right away, you can make her console your account's home console. More information on how that works can be found here

If you currently only have one console in your household and wish to purchase a 2nd one. You will be able to share your subscriptions with the 2nd console.

You will need to gameshare with the 2nd console. Check the link below to see how to set up gamesharing between 2 consoles.

You may have had your console set as your Home at the time you made that 2nd account or the friend your sharing with had gold at that time. If your account is the one with Gold, you would need to have your console set as your Home so your daughter can access
the Gold.

It's also only recommended to use the Home sharing feature on your own console to share within your household.

I have 4 Xbox One systems in my household and utilizing only 2 Gold accounts. My home Xbox is set to my daughter's system and I log onto my system with my account. My daughter gets Gold access on my account because hers is the home system and I get full
access due to logging into my account. The same is true with my Wife's account and my son's Xbox. The home setting does work but you would still need to log into the Gold status account on the second (non-home) Xbox.
