    Set up Xbox remote to control TV power and volums


    I can't figure this out. The directions seems overly complicated. My son bought the PDP Talon Media Remote for Xbox One and we can not get it to control the TV volume or power. Everything I read talks about controlling your TV in terms of channels and such.
    We have no set top box or antenna connected to this TV. It is just for the Xbox. We have no Kinect either. The set up said it automatically recognized the TV, but we can't control it to turn it on or off or the volume. Do we need the IR Extender or will we
    need additional expensive parts like the TV tuner?

    Xbox one media remote won't control TV

    Anyone know why the Xbox one media remote won't control my TV? It works for apps like Netflix but it won't control the volume. I set my TV up and the kinect was able to mute my TV during the setup process. Is the official Xbox one media remote supposed
    to control the volume of your TV?? Thanks for any suggestions.

    How adjust PC volume from 360 remote with TV support enabled?

    Hi, once the "Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote" has been enabled to operate a TV set (to turn the TV on/off etc.) the remote's volume buttons ALWAYS control the TV volume. How can I use the remote to control the PC volume? Regardless of if the remote's TV
    button is green or red, the volume buttons control the TV volume.

    I am using this remote to control Windows Media Center on a regular PC, and really need to control the PC volume, not the TV volume.

    PC volume can be controlled if I do not enable the remote's TV support, but then I also lose the ability to turn the TV on/off :-(

    If you have an Xbox One S then you should be able to control the TV's volume etc

    If you are using the original Xbox One, then you will need to get an IR extender or make sure Kinect is connected.

    Not every model tv works with these features, Even on the X1S and X1X. I have a Sharp 4K tv.. my model number doesn't come up, and I can't do **** with my Kinect or my media remote. It's load of ****.

    It seems to be changing the volume in the set up but it's linking to the tvs original remote and not to the remote that controlle my cable box I've even tried to hide the other remote haha

    I would like to control PC volume AND power TV on/off.

    It seems the TV button turns RED or GREEN depending on which device the remote will control, no? This seems true for power on/off, channel up/down, mute, and a few other buttons - except for the VOLUME buttons which ALWAYS control the TV volume. A bug?

    What is the red/green TV button supposed to indicate, if not "which device is currently controlled"?
