Set up XBox One S offline

I just got an XBox One and am trying to set it up in my "man cave" down in the basement. Our WiFi doesn't cast that far so I will not have internet access while playing games down there. I'm fine with playing games offline. Don't really care about saving
achievements or using apps, just wanna play games when I have a little spare time. My question is, how do I set this thing up WITHOUT using an internet connection? Is it possible or do I need to return this console and get one that will work offline?

Offline Play

I am unable to play my new Xbox one s offline, can anyone help. (Already set to offline and home xbox) And no, the are not online only games

Xbox One will not play games offline

For digital games you need to set it as Home Xbox in order to play them offline. There´s no way around that.

The disc based games should work offline without that as far as i know. Is the right Disc in the Xbox One if you try to launch a Disc based game?

Is the Console reading the Disc correctly / registering that there´s a Disc inside it?

Troubleshoot Xbox One Disc Errors

Make also sure its set to offline in the Settings and might try to set it to Power Saving mode / Instant on to see if that makes a difference.

Hey Xbox Fan!

You will need an internet connection for the initial set up and updates and to add your Microsoft Account to the console. Make sure you set it up to instant sign in and no barriers so that you can use it offline.

Once set up go into your network settings and set the console to go offline.

The console would work better online. Have you thought of purchasing a couple of power line adapters. These are great for connecting to the internet were your WiFi does not reach. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_s...adapters&rh=n:340831031,k:power+line+adapters

If your account is set as the home, then you should still be able to play your games offline.

Try going into the Settings > Network > Go offline, then load up a game.

just to add, if it's not your set as your home xbox currently you will be unable to set it as such until the services are back up.
