Series X won’t launch games digitally purchased or off Game Pass

Hi I’m about out of ideas for what I need to do to solve this issue. I purchased a Series X two months ago for my gf and I to play Split Fiction. First issue was the game would start the first cut scene then crashes and exits to the main menu. This is as far as the game would go and we tried making sure it had stable internet connection. It was hard lined for the internet connection afterwards. We made sure the game and Xbox were up to date. It got to the point my gf bought her own Series S and everything worked! Game booted up and ran perfectly on her Xbox start to finish.

I went back to see if I can mess with my Series X again and when I played Elden Ring (a game I purchased awhile back before the Series X) that game runs fine. Same with Dragon Ball Fighters and Ghost Recon Wildlands.

I went to game pass and started downloading Borderlands 3 and then the new Doom Dark Ages and the same Split Fixtion issues started occurring again. Borderlands would only get to Clap Trap at the beginning and the second time he passes would freeze and I would have to hard reset it. Doom would go through all the beginning credits then the loading percent screen and freeze right there too.

I have exhausted everything I can think of and searched up from the Xbox Forums, looking on YouTube for same issues, googling topics related to mine and nothing. I don’t know if maybe just the Xbox itself is faulty and just needs to be warrantied out. Any help would be awesome before that needs to happen

Let's try to enable the QoS tagging on this console.

Please go to Settings and select General > Network settings > Advanced settings > QoS tagging settings

Enable both the DSCP and WMM tagging

Reboot the console

Then press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

Unplug everything from the back of your Xbox.

Wait 3 minutes, and then plug the power cord and HDMI back in.

Then, please check if that fixes the issue.

It won’t let me click on the reset option or even use the restart option for anything. It will only allow me to uninstall the games directly. The game is the digital copy purchased from the Xbox store on the Xbox series x.

So just to double check - if I get a Series X and I plug my hard drive into it, I won’t be able to play MWII? I will have to re purchase the game as the Series X version?

Based on what you've written I think that the next steps are:1)network test 2)try to move the games into the internal drive 3) factory reset.

Try to download games to internal drive next time, then if it play normaly you can move to external. With a bad download speed you may have corrupted files.
