    This has only started recently in the past month or so. Previously it had worked flawlessly. But now it's intermittent. Sometimes it records the second I hit the hotkey, other times it will start the timer, but when I check the actual video, the first 5-10 seconds is just missing.

    I've tried clearing the console's cache. I've tried formatting the external SSD. I can't think of what else can be done. I've ever tried switching the USB cable used to connect the SSD to the console. I've also tried using a different SSD.

    This problem has ruined several otherwise flawless gameplay clips. It's infuriating, and I haven't seen anyone else post this problem.

    Any insight or help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Have you tried to reset your console?

    Please, follow these steps:

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Select Reset and keep my games & apps.

    From what I've read, recording game clips to SSDs means the Xbox needs to be able to use them as external media storage.

    Because the update on the 23rd of August broke SSDs as media storage devices for Xbox consoles, that'd be why your game clips aren't being recorded.

    I'd recommend submitting this as feedback through the 'Report a Problem' app (either installed on your Xbox, or available on the Microsoft Store if you don't have it). That seems to be the way that Xbox developers can best get information to work on a fix to the issue
