Series X thinks there’s an Ethernet cable plugged in and won’t connect to WiFi

I recently had a Wi-Fi issue myself.

Usually a full restart cycle of the console might work.

To do this.

Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for at least 10 seconds.
Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Personally, I solved it by unplugging the power cable for about a minute. If neither solution works, you may need to reset the console.

Got WiFi to work.

Really weird. Have to not have an ethernet cable plugged in before you turn it on. Connects to wiFi in my room. But check this video I made when I plug an ethernet cable in:

The console will not connect to WiFi (wireless) if there is a ethernet cable plugged into the console. Disconnect the ethernet cable and restart the console. It should allow you to input the WiFi SSID and passcode to connect from the detected list in Network Settings.

If you plug in an Ethernet cable to your PC, the WiFi connection will stop on your PC because it should only be using the Ethernet connection. The only reason that I can think of for WiFi connecting and dropping is a problem with your Ethernet cable. If
changing the Ethernet cable doesn't work,
support.xbox.com/.../connect-live-using-pc try looking at that link to see if it can help you with your shared connection setup. Sorry I can't be of my help.

I have had similar problems with my sons series x dropping internet connection and the only way of curing this was connecting the console directly to the router with an Ethernet Cable. It now works with no issues. I hope this helps.

And to add my sons Xbox one worked perfectly on our WiFi with no issues but the series x has issues, I’ve no idea why it has these issues but the cable sorted it.
