    Series X thinks I have a headset connected and I don't


    Hi! My series X is in Headset Mode and refuses to pass sound to the TV. I don't have a headset, so this is a bit of a surprise.

    I've tried power cycle and the device reset, as well as plugging into the jack and disconnecting on both controllers.

    Any ideas what to do?

    Sound is restored to the TV, but it's still in Headset Format?

    At least it works. I wouldn't mark fixed, but the symptoms of the issue are gone.

    Does this happen on both controllers? Have you checked for controller updates as that would be the first thing I would do.

    Might be worth power cycling the TV in case something has got buggy there. Unplugging the TV from the mains for a short while to reset it.

    On both, and updates are applied. Controller 2, yesterday; primary a week ago. 😊

    I would suggest going into the Xbox settings and seeing if you can change format there now that TV has sound.
