    My system updated last night, now whenever I game capture to my USB 3.0 flash drive my series x turns of in the middle of recording. 3 files have been corrupted today. The UI becomes unresponsive right before the system shutdown. Is anyone else having this issue, and can anyone help me???

    This is frustrating, especially when game capture on the ps5 just works and footage can be edited locally and uploaded to YouTube.

    Yes the USB drive is brand new and works on the computer. Tried all prior fixes listed above and nothing. Files work on the drive. Trying to capture gameplay on Xbox series x. Won’t recognize as an option to change the location of capture and share to the jump drive.

    Hi,

    The Storage Epansion card from Seagate is for Xbox game installs/downloads. It can't be used to record gameplay, which is why your Google searches were unsuccessful.

    All you need to capture externally is an inexpensive USB 3.0 storage device. A suitable flash drive can do it.

    Hi,

    What 'USB 3.0' drive is it? A mechanical HDD or a USB flash drive? What's the manufacturer? How much space does it claim to have?

    Did you format it in Windows? Many more well known manufacturers have their own software to format drives, especially if the drive is the HDD variety.

    The drive needs to be formatted with NTFS file system

    But a question, how is the hard drive connected? USB 3.0 or USB-C?

    USB 3 looks like normal usb and often has blue inside the connector. C is a small connector

    If it is USB 3.0 it won’t work, the drive connection is too slow to play the game

    To format the hard drive go to Disk management, right click on the drive, choose format, and then select ntfs from the drop-down and hit quick format.

    Please be aware this will erase the existing contents of the drive

    Just to be sure... does your hard drive use USB 3.0? If it's a USB 2.x hard drive, the Xbox One won't be able to format it for use with games/apps.
