Discus and support Series X locked up on dashboard, needed hard shut down. in XboX Insiders to solve the problem; I had just played some Cold War with Ray Tracing OFF, and went and looked on my dashboard after closing the game, and my Xbox just stuck on the picture...     Series X locked up on dashboard, needed hard shut down.


    I had just played some Cold War with Ray Tracing OFF, and went and looked on my dashboard after closing the game, and my Xbox just stuck on the picture of my Apps, the sounds were still happening as if I was navigating my menu, but nothing was changing on screen, even when I pushed the power button and the machine when into blinking sleep mode the screen stayed the same, until I held in on the power button to turn it off fully.

    Save data corrupted on first freeze

    Its the forcing in shutting down that corrupts the hard drive, but you have no choice as the freeze locks the system up, the Xbox needs to go through the closing down procedures. I contacted Xbox support this morning and they confirmed this.

    That would be great. I dont mind that the game is not working, but I do not like my Series X being hard shut down as it can corrupt the drive\brick the xbox.

    Hi! I’ve had the series x for less than a week and it keeps shutting down by itself, most of the time while in the dashboard. I have tried both types of resets, plugging it elsewhere but nothing works. I’m thinking of returning it at this point.
