    Series X has no IR blaster unfortunately


    I just got my Series X yesterday and after a whole night of transfer from my One X and downloading the upgrades for each game I was disappointed by the smallest oversight. My Vizio sound bar are only controlled by IR remotes and has no HDMI ARC input. I'd pay to have a little dongle to put in the from USB to regain the IR capability. Hell, I still have my Xbone Kinect if I could connect that to do the job that'd be awesome.

    Hi, if it is an Original Xbox One you would need an IR blaster, like the one built into kinect. If it is an S or X the IR blaster is built in.

    Can I use Kinect as an IR receiver when using my cable remote?

    Unfortunately, Kinect is not an IR receiver, just an IR blaster. You can use an IR extension cable from the Xbox One to your STB, but that won't help with accessing your DVR content currently.

    Sorry, you'll either need an IR repeater for your STB, or to move it so it has line of sight to your remote.

    Kinect setup correctly, RF signal just can't reach devices.

    get a set of IR blasters it really helps with that.$7.99 on amazon for a three way IR blaster

    to turn the tv on and off uses the ir blaster function, if that has stopped working then you may need to retrain it, all the xbox's in my house still work fine with turning the tv on and off viaa the IR blaster.

    The Slingbox comes with an IR blaster. SlingPlayer clients allow remote connections to send remote signals via the IR blaster.
