Series X fully shuts off while on dashboard or store

Hi! I’ve had the series x for less than a week and it keeps shutting down by itself, most of the time while in the dashboard. I have tried both types of resets, plugging it elsewhere but nothing works. I’m thinking of returning it at this point.

does it shut off while playing or even on the dashboard?

Xbox Series X - even with the console fully shut down, if I place my ear at the top I can hear a buzz like there’s a current. No fan spinning etc.

Hi Shane I'm Luis a Xbox user just like you. Thanks for reaching out us here. Did you fully exit FUT on the Series X version or did you dashboard into the One X version?

I have this problem sometimes as well. It only happens when I turn the console off (via the guide button) before the dashboard has fully loaded up.

Things to try:

Remove the disc from the tray before shutting the console down.

Only shut down the console after exiting your game and returning to the dashboard.

Unplug all of your cables from the power source and the console. Wait a minute or so. Now plug them back in. Do not do this while the console is powering down.
