    Series X Crashes When In Power Saving Mode


    My console will consistently crash when in energy saving mode after about 5 minutes of being turned on.

    It has no issues in sleep mode.

    I have reset the console several times and have tried the myriad of other solutions on this forum.

    Pretty annoyed that I'm sure the answer I'll get is send it in and pay $250.

    Hi, If you didn't know, the Xbox Series X turns itself off randomly to protect itself from overheating or when there is no power. It can also hard crash, even when playing relatively low-powered games like Minecraft.

    It's manually set to HDMI already and settings saved. Console has been restarted several times since then (especially when Halo Infinite is crashing the XBOX Series X again -_- )

    Still asynchronous.

    Is your Xbox One X configured as instant on or as power saving mode?

    Try switching these modes to see if this resolves the problem.

    In addition to Nathan’s answers above, you may want to enable the shutdown option (energy saving) power mode if you’re concerned about the energy consumption and the amount of time your console takes to power off. Refer to:

    It’s honestly nothing to worry about as long as your console is positioned correctly and well ventilated, though. The power cable should ideally be connected directly to the wall outlet with no extension cables in the setup if possible :)
