Series X controllers will not connect unless plugged.

Notice the "s" in "controllers" in the title. This is happening for all 3 xbox series X controllers I owe.

Controller firmware has been updated. Batteries are fine. Xbox series x console all up to date. If tried powercycling the console. Full shut down and plugged to a different power source. Changed HDMI cables (god knows why I did).

This started happening of the last year. I can never boot it from the controller wirelessly anymore. At first, I though it was my two initial controllers so I bought a 3rd one (for guest), firmware updated as well. I bought because I can still get the controller to work wirelessly but only if I turn it one while being plugged into the console -- and sometimes struggle with thay as well. I do have to mention that the only way to update controller's FW is to leave it plugged in. If it's wireless, at 13-14%, it turns off on its own.

Very very frustrating. My Xbox live gold and ultimate is about to end this month (after 3 long and good years). Really thinking about making the move to Sony because I don't even really play the games on ultimate pass, I just got it back when the upgrade to it was 1$.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

1. With the three Xbox Controllers, are all these controllers are Xbox Wireless controllers or of different type?

2. Are those controllers not connected wirelessly to Xbox console since the first time it was used to connect to your Xbox Console?

For the meantime, here are the ways to connect your Xbox Controllers wirelessly:

Connect the Xbox Controllers wirelessly using Xbox app accessories.
Connect the Xbox Controllers using the pair button.

you did everything that could solve such an issue.

So it very much looks like you have to bring it back to the store with the receipt and exchange it for a new one.

Can you confirm whether it is the controller not connecting to the Series X or the Series X not connecting to the TV?
