Series X consoles being sold for profit really grinds my gears

The issue actually occurs on the Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X consoles via BC as well it’s a server problem not my console. It really shouldn’t matter how old it is when the Xbox Live Subscription is still being sold to be used on the 360 and the games themselves are still being sold. It’s honestly pathetic they can’t fix this when they are literally the biggest tech company in the world.

I highly doubt that any of the consoles are being sold at a profit. Like I stated in an other post with the devalue of the Yen they may lose more per unit

What you're asking simply isn't impossible. For the simple fact that an Xbox Series X doesn't use what's called 'off the shelf parts'. It's not like building a PC with specific motherboard and processor. These machines are literally assembled in a factory from components that are not sold sold on the open market, hence not 'off the shelf'.

In the same way as you can't build your own Apple M1 iMac or iPhone, Apple don't sell the parts individually.

Even if you could buy the components and build one (which you can't), you'd never be able to put one together that would be cheaper than from in a store. Console's have typically always been made and sold at a loss, the loss is turned into profit by software licences, digital downloads and online subscriptions.

You could build a gaming PC with similar, or indeed greater, specs to a Series X, but not for the same price as a Series X. The graphics card in my self build PC cost almost as much as Series X!

It's just one of the few things that really grinds my gears.
