Series X Cold War Ray Tracing Installment

I just got the Xbox Series X and have the new version of cold war installed. But in the in game settings it still has the ray tracing and 120 hz options unavailable. It tells me to go to file management to install it but when i try to install ray tracing
and the HD assets, it just says that theyll start downloading even though they never do.

I tentatively believe the Series S has RT enabled.

There are no ray traced shadows on the Series S version of Cold War either on multiplayer or single player.

Did you buy the regular or cross gen version?.

X gen is 89 and regular us 79

If regular then you wont have ray tracing you need x gen

Are you sure your tv supports 4k and 120hz or 1080 p and 120 hz with 60 hz and 4k

Disk version:

Uninstalled everything cold war

Put in disk

Went to Microsoft store

Picked series x version

Picked install

Started game, was in trial mode

Quit out

Installed 4 content packs FROM STORE

Started game, HD assets, ray tracing installed.

Thanks for the solution.

EDIT: Base game download might have come from disk, not store. But it was 180gb and content packs did come from store.

Hi,

Ray Tracing is on a per-game basis on both the Series S and the Series X. Some games have it, some do not. If a game has Ray Tracing it will normally be in it's options menu. Some games such as Watch Dogs Legion have ray tracing enabled by default.

Unlike Series X, the S model does not have RT for some games that the Series X has.
